Words of wisdom from one of my heroes, Will Smith. He’s developed his skills to a ridiculous degree over his lifetime, and is constantly sharing that with others. He’s an inspiration to all of us.
Here’s a compilation of some of his best, right here for the PickUp Podcast audience:
Some of my favorites:
“Being realistic is the most commonly-traveled road to mediocrity.”
“He who says he can, and he who says he can’t, are both usually right.”
“I am not afraid to die on a treadmill.”
“There’s no reason to have a Plan B, because it distracts from Plan A.”
Jordan Harbinger has always had an affinity for Social Influence, Interpersonal Dynamics and Social Engineering, helping private companies test the security of their communications systems and working with law enforcement agencies before he was even old enough to drive.
Jordan has spent several years abroad in Europe and the developing world, including South America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and speaks several languages. He has also worked for various governments and NGOs overseas, traveled through war-zones and been kidnapped -twice. He’ll tell you; the only reason he’s still alive and kicking is because of his ability to talk his way into (and out of), just about any type of situation. Here at The Art of Charm, Jordan shares that experience, and the system borne as a result, with students and clients.
It’s ironic that Will Smith is so right with the things he says yet most people out there will never get the chance to take this on board for whatever reason. They need to be teaching these things in schools, like actually put useful stuff into the curriculum. Like I found things like art and latin so pointless compared to this. Essentially we’ve all had to go and find this out for ourselves, those who dont have that initiative are going to live a less than ideal life. Children should at least be made aware of the fact that they can improve their lives themselves and education is not the only option in life.
Allow me my rare comment here: This video is promoting a mania…there is no reflexive side. Most people are looking back and perhaps question their decisions. Self assuredness with the die-on-treadmill approach is surely a way to a big /no average at all/ anything – subjectively: success because it feeds itself- all works for you, if not, you barely perceive it. The gods are on your side, you are able of big things with passion and aggression. Hope the one has some ethics to clean the Mess if others point to it /he wont see it/ as the mess potential from such a powerful creative mania is huge (same goes for valuable creations) since we are not clarevoyant. It is a tryworthy, charismatic approach. I wish to be able of it (being sober).
