Pickup Podcast Ep. #77 Dan the Social Hitchhiker

AJ and Jordan

Introduction: Dan is going to tell us about his new company

Dan is on the phone from California

Charisma Coaching

Dan introduces his new company which doesn’t just focus on meeting and picking up women, like his previous company Charisma Arts did, but also on job relationships and other career and life relationships. All the skills they teach are pretty basic. The idea is to take these skills and put them in a new spots like online dating, interview skills, being better with friends and relatives, conflict management and employee morale. Many skills can be used in multiple social situations.

Focusing just on how to get a girl and then get her in bed when it comes to teaching guys social charm, can be more harmful than good. The idea is to improve their social standings and abilities in many different areas (family, guy friends, etc.). Being good in many different areas allows for better improvement all around. Dan tells how in his new company, they have classes that have both male and female students in them. This allows for more comfort around the opposite sex as well as a chance to have a broader understanding of it. Since the classes focus less on picking up the opposite sex and dating, it creates and interesting atmosphere.

According to the guys, most advice they here given from women to men about dating is poor advice. The advice women give is how they want to be treated in their own little fantasy world and that’s no the real world. Majority of the time women say they want one thing when they really want the other. By bringing men and women together in the courses, it creates this really juicy dialogue and intelligent conversations. Plus it’s always better to practice with a real woman than have a guy pretending to do a female voice.

Talking in the “I” perspective and using you own experiences and feelings is a big part of conflict management. Talking about your own feelings rather then saying the other person is wrong, prevents the other person from arguing with you and disagreeing because they cannot argue with your own feelings.

The two second rule is after someone stops talking, wait 2 seconds because it makes you seem more interested in what they are saying and will also give time for someone else to enter or continue that thread of conversation.

Many men come into the charm community hoping that they are the last to learn these secrets and that no one else will come after them. They are afraid that it will become to mainstream and every guy will know the tricks and it will ruin everything. AJ, Jordan and Dan disagree and actually tell how if everyone knew these skills it wouldn’t mean more competition but it would make for even more fun times in social situations like bars. Dan even stated that he had a girlfriend that learned that he was involved in the pickup community and knew some of his tricks, but they still worked on her.
