We’ve all seen the ads… We all KNOW that it’s a scam… And yet… there is always this little voice that says, “what if there is some truth to this?” or, “I thought there was a law that says they can’t lie in advertisements?”
I get asked questions about this subject so often in my newsletter that I actually wrote a mini-book about this subject, so I thought it would be cool to share some of the info I discovered with the readers of the Pick Up Podcast Blog…
In case you’re short on time, I’ll just cut to the chase and give you the big message right up front:
While there are a few foods and herbs that offer a minimal amount of sexual enhancement… there’s probably nothing that is really going to make a big difference in your life, AND… many of these herbs have some unpleasant side effects that are much more powerful than any pro-sexual effect they may have.
For example, yohimbine, which is a very well studied supplement, shows a tiny advantage over placebo in a small percentage of men in terms of self-reported libido. But it shows an undisputed side effect of high blood pressure.
In fact, as far as independently verifiable studies go, your general cardiovascular health and body fat have more of an effect on your libido than any of the herbs available on the Internet. This is particularly true if you are overweight. Fat cells secrete estrogen, and estrogen lowers sex drive in men. So hit that treadmill!
Among the chemicals that have a pro-sexual effect, various antioxidants, as well as zinc and the amino acid arginine are the most promising…
But before you race out and get a bunch of supplements, most of these studies also show that you will get the best results from the natural sources of these nutrients: A diet high in leafy green vegetables, blueberries, and fava beans. Plus, if you eat these foods you’ll get a lot of other great phyto-nutrients that will do a lot of other good things for your body and your energy levels.
So eat those veggies!
Now obviously the pills that you can get from your doctor, like Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis, all work. And they work well… But these pills were designed for older men and men with health problems and hormone deficiencies who couldn’t get an erection under normal circumstances. And the legion of 20-somethings who are taking them recreationally are setting themselves up for some unhappy surprises.
I have had several guys contact me already about their psychological addiction to these pills and their fear that they might never be able to have “normal” sex. And, finally, those pills that promise to make your penis bigger… come on! Do you really need me to tell you?
Here’s a deal for you: If you’re still wondering if there are pills that can make your penis larger, just send me your name and address and a $100 bill and I’ll send you a year’s supply…
Be good, play safe, be nice to women always.
